Hyaluronic acid - a natural moisturizer for your skin

For many, the word "acid" can make you think of something harmfull and maybe something that is not quite healthy - and specially not for the skin. But hyaluronic acid, abbreviated AH, is completely harmless, and something that is actually already found naturally in your body.

But how does hyaluronic acid and collagen relate? The two natural substances play incredibly well together and precisely why we, in CARE, have chosen to add these two ingredients the same product, CARE Holistic Therapy Collagen.

Read more in this blog post and get great knowledge of what Dermial® Hyaluronic Acid is, what it can do for your skin and why it works perfectly in interaction with our marine collagen powder.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid to the beauty of your skin

Hyaluronic acid is, as mentioned earlier, a completely natural substance that already exists in our body. It is a so-called "sugar molecule" and something we are all born with. AH is found in the two skin layers dermis and epidermis where it in short, makes sure to keep the skin hydrated.

Therefore, choose the collagen with hyaluronic acid:

  • Moisturizing - hyaluronic acid attracts and binds water molecules
  • Anti-aging - hyaluronic acid plays an important role in the maintenance of skin elasticity and firmness

With age, the body's content of AH decreases - especially after the mid -40s. When we hit 75+, the content has fallen by up to 77% and it can be seen on the skin in particular.

Hyaluronic acid in the body decreases with age

If you want to eat to get more hyaluronic acid, you can't as there unfortunately are no foods containing large amounts of hyaluronic acid. Instead you can make sure you eat healthy and varied, like foods high in vitamin c, fish and legumes. These foods can support your body's natural formation of hyaluronic acid, so it's just another good reason to eat healthy.

There are different sources of the hyaluronic acid used in everything from supplements to care products - do you know which sources are available and most used? The three sources of hyaluronic acid are:

Biologically produced hyaluronic acid: This type is extracted by bacterial cultures and results in the formation of large amounts of hyaluronic acid.

Animal- or fish -based hyaluronic acid: Extracted from various animals, including the roosters comb, as well as fish. This is the only type approved for food and supplements in several countries, including Denmark.

Vegetable hyaluronic acid: The range of vegetable hyaluronic acid is small, but work is being done to extract hyaluronic acid from sugar beet and soybeans, using selected microorganisms.

Regardless of which source is used, it is important to ensure that the hyaluronic acid is of a high quality and that it has been cleaned and treated properly. You can be absolutely sure when choosing CARE with Dermial® from Vild Nord.

Love for your skin, from the inside

Your skin deserves all the love it can get, after all, it sticks with you throughout your life. Eat healthy and varied while doing it in a way that is delicious and tasteful for you. Exercise and keep active - choose the type of activity that suits you. As a supplement and a shortcut to extra care, you can make use of supplements that contains hyaluronic acid.

Your body forms hyaluronic acid throughout your life, as is the case with collagen. Hyaluronic acid and collagen also share the same fate, as the body's natural formation decreases with age.

In the body, hyaluronic acid acts as a "moisture binder", which means that the hyaluronic acid binds the water in the body, including the skin. The largest amount is found in your skin - after all, it is also the body's largest organ and therefore it is here that approximately half of the moisture-binding acid is found.

A little more precisely, the hyaluronic acid is found in the two skin layers, dermis and epidermis. That is the outermost- and middle skin layers.

The layer of skin

But why is hyaluronic acid such a good moisture binder?

Hyaluronic acid can bind a lot of water, actually up to 1000 times its own weight. It makes the acid a fantastic moisture binder and moisture-preserving ingredients in a wealth of products, and thus also Vild Nord CARE in the form of Dermial®.

Dermial

® has been shown in a study to increase the skin's moisture content by up to 30%.

Dermial® - Because only the best is good enough

IN CARE Holistic Therapy Collagen we use Dermial® hyaluronic acid from the roosters comb. It is a very unique source of glycosamineoglycanes (GAG´s), which is a group of complex carbohydrates found naturally in the body. Dermial® contains a full 69-75% GAG, as well as a number of other proteoglycans that bind gag together. In addition, Dermial also consists of hydrolyzed collagen.

When only the best is good enough

The water content of the skin falls with age and when the water content decreases, the skin becomes more dry and less supple and plump. Hyaluronic acid is a good help to bind the moisture to the skin and is therefore a star in CARE.

The connective tissue binds our body together; bones, muscles, skin and organs. The skin's connective tissue is not restored at the same speed as we get older and the number of cell layers in the epidermis decreases. This means that the skin becomes thinner and has fewer cells to bind water. Manganese contributes to the formation of normal connective tissue and is therefore a mineral that fits well with CARE.

Many women experience challenges with dry mucous membranes as they age. These genes have an impact on how we feel.
