The immune system in short

Kort og godt om immunforsvaret - Vild Nord

What is the immune system?

For some, it's on their minds almost daily, while for others, it's just there – the immune system. We all have it in our bodies, but what is it, and how does it work? You've probably heard the phrases "it's good for your immune system" or "a low immune system" in some context.

The immune system consists of a variety of organs and mucous membranes, each playing their respective roles.

The skin is the body's largest organ and is also a part of the immune system while serving as a protective barrier for the internal parts of the body. What's unique about the skin is that it comprises three layers: the epidermis (outermost layer), the dermis (middle layer), and the hypodermis (subcutaneous layer).

Natural support for the immune system

Collagen itself does not impact your immune system, but it's the other ingredients we've incorporated into the Collagen Immune Remedy variant that do. With Collagen Immune Remedy, you'll receive pure pampering for your body, from the inside out, not least in support of your immune system.

  • Echinacea supports the normal function of the immune system.
  • Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system, reduces tiredness and fatigue, and supports the normal formation of collagen.
  • Vitamin D also contributes to the normal function of the immune system and the maintenance of normal bones.

Echinacea, the beautiful perennial plant that has been known for centuries and whose beauty we certainly haven't forgotten. That's why we use extracts from the plant's stems, leaves, and flowers in Collagen Immune Remedy, where it naturally supports the immune system.

We obtain Vitamin D from mushrooms in various stages (white button and portobello), which are exposed to UV light. This initiates their natural production of the vitamin – a process called Earthlight, which you can read more about in our blog post Earthlight® - Vitamin D from nature. Even though we use mushrooms as a source of the sunshine vitamin, you won't be able to taste it. Collagen Immune Remedy still tastes like delicious berries.

The flavorful and colourful berry blend of acerola and blackcurrant is a natural source of vitamin C.

The berries are harvested, processed, and finally added to the Collagen Immune Remedy mixture. The berry blend provides both vitamins, flavor, and colour to the collagen powder – entirely naturally.

Colourful eating

It's important to eat a healthy and varied diet. Consume vegetables and fruits and try to diversify as much as possible to include a wide range of flavorful plant-based foods. Additionally, consider reducing your intake of red meat and substituting it with lean meat or even fish.

It is especially fish, vegetables, fruits, and berries that serve as sources of many vitamins and minerals, all of which support the normal function of the immune system – with the exception of vitamin D, which is found in the highest concentrations in animal-based foods or in Collagen Immune Remedy.

Vitamins and minerals that contribute to the normal functioning of the immune system are:
